ROUND 1: A 2-HOUR LIVE ASSET MANAGEMENT SIMULATION

THE PROCESS
1) REGISTER YOUR PLACE
Enter your name, email and school above to register your place on the Student Investor Challenge
2) CHOOSE YOUR TEAM and TEAM NAME
Choose 3 other classmates to join your team for the event, and choose your team name. Teams should be of 4 players but teams of 3 are also permissible. Ensure all team members have registered.
3) SELECT YOUR DATE
After registration, you and your teammates will be sent 4 asset management simulation events to choose from. Please select the same event as the rest of your team, your team performance will be taken from one event only (each event will be a different game).
4) SIMULATION EVENT
You and your team will be sent the zoom link to join the asset management simulation event. The session will last 2 hours and take you through the fundamentals of investment management before you manage a portfolio over 12 months of price activity.
5) RESULTS
The total scores of all your team will be taken and divided by the number of players (must be 3 or 4 in a team). Scores will be determined by Pnl but also key asset management metrics such as how well you managed risk, and how well you re-balanced your portfolio over time. All of these concepts will be taught and explained throughout the event.
6) ROUND 2
The top-performing teams will be invited to a more advanced simulation event for round 2 of the competition.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM THE FINANCE ACCELERATOR?
A free fast-paced, real life, practical simulation that puts you in the seat of an investment bank trader and asset manager. This online live event is your chance to get noticed for your potential.
Is there a cost to this event?
No, the Finance Accelerator is fully sponsored by Amplify Trading to help give every student the chance to receive practical markets training, and secure leading financial roles.
HOW DO I GET FAST-TRACKED?
High potential candidates identified in both buy-side and sell side roles are contacted by the AmplifyME team to request permission to recommend directly to an institution. In 2021 we recommended over 100 students to be fast-tracked for internship opportunities.
How do I take part?
Once you have booked your place you will receive a confirmation email with the details of your event. This will include the zoom link to join the simulation delivery, and simulation access code.
What do I need to play?
The simulation is best accessed through a Google Chrome browser so all you need is a laptop, PC or Mac that is connected to the internet to join the session. Currently we do not recommend playing on a phone or tablet.
How long will it take?
The session will last 2 hours and will provide you instantly with unique performance data that you can utilize in your applications or get you fast-tracked via recommendation.
