The Future of Finance In Bahrain

Meet Zain AlFardan, a first class Banking and Finance Graduate from BIBF. Zain was part of the 2023 cohort where she achieved a Distinction in Applied Finance, accredited by the London Institute of Banking & Finance with AmplifyME.

Zain has since gone on to secure an advisory internship at KPMG and an internship in compliance at the Bahrain Islamic Bank.

In this interview, Zain shares her experience on the AmplifyME programme where she was fully sponsored by the Tamkeen Public Authority.

Q: What inspired you to enroll in the AmplifyME programme?

A: After conducting thorough research, I concluded that the AmplifyME programme would not only give me an extra diploma but also provide exposure to various fields where finance is applied, including the use of technology in financial management.

Additionally, the course offers exposure to stock trading, which was a previously unfamiliar topic. The positive feedback from professionals who completed the AmplifyME programme also influenced my decision.

Ultimately, I enrolled in the programme to develop my leadership skills, gain a better understanding of global issues, learn how to work collaboratively with others and apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills in complex situations.

Q: How did the different simulations enhance your learning experience  in the AmplifyME programme?  

A: Participating in the various simulations allowed me to experience  real-life trading and management simulations. The simulations were engaging and challenging, providing the opportunity to work with  others to develop solutions to real-world problems.

Each simulation  presented unique challenges and the hands-on experience helped me  assess my likes and dislikes, which is not easy to experience in a  traditional classroom environment.

Overall, the simulations were a  highlight of the programme and I learned a lot from participating in  them. 

Q: How were the teachers and mentors during the AmplifyME programme?

A: The teachers and mentors on the programme were incredibly supportive and knowledgeable. They provided guidance and feedback to help me develop my skills and knowledge and they were always available to answer questions and provide resources when needed.

Every minute of the approximately 7-hour educational sessions was exciting and interactive. Asking questions was encouraged and every answer was formulated in a way that helped make the concepts simple to comprehend.

Q: How has the AmplifyME programme aided you in your personal development?

A: Personally, the AmplifyME programme has helped me in many ways. I've gained a deeper understanding of myself and the world around me and I feel more equipped to make a positive impact in my community.

The programme allowed me to gain real-world experience in finance management and helped me understand the areas where my interest lies. The exposure to various fields has helped me realise the sector I should invest further time in. Additionally, I've developed my leadership skills and learned how to work more effectively with others.

A: Without any hesitation, I would highly recommend the AmplifyME programme to anyone seeking to gain an understanding of finance, trading, and asset management, regardless of their professional background.
